Bristol Energy Co-operative installed 2,380 solar panels on the Bottle Yard Studio (TBY2) roof, giving the building new life and a generating capacity of 1 megawatt—enough clean energy to power a plane for over 80 laps around the Earth!

Amplyify your impact with the right funding for your group

We go above and beyond to support our community energy generators, which is why making the Kickstart Loan as accessible as possible was so important to us! No fine print, just easy access to affordable loans to help boost your projects!

We’re really passionate about the positive impact of green power on our community. So we’re over the moon to have got such quick access to the funds we needed to build our latest solar community energy project!

Bristol's community-owned rooftop array helps save 200 tonnes of CO2 annually. Not only does the building generate more energy than it needs, but the excess power can be sold and reinvested into local community projects that need it most!

Projects like this are crucial in helping areas like Bristol meet their climate goal of reaching net zero by 2030.

TBY2 isn’t just helping Bristol reach its climate goals—it’s setting new standards!

In 2023, the studio became one of the first facilities to receive the Global Sustainability Standard from BAFTA Albert & Arup. Later that year, it also won the Sustainable Initiative Award for its solar rooftop at Screen International’s inaugural Global Production Awards.
