Repair Cafe Workshops

Awel Aman Tawe

Awel Aman Tawe has been running a monthly repair café in Cwmgors since 2023, and with support from the Powering Communities Fund, they’ve been able to expand it by adding workshops that teach a variety of skills.

The best part about the Repairs Workshop?

The fact that the fixers leading the sessions are volunteers from the community too- real people coming together to support others and share knowledge and skills.

About the project

Skill-Sharing in Action

So far, Awel Aman Tawe has successfully run two workshops alongside their Repair Cafés, with plenty more planned for 2025. The first session focused on textiles, where participants created aprons to use during the cafés and learned simple repair techniques for uniforms and soft toys.

They’ve also run digital skills and inclusion workshops, responding to community requests on topics like coding, 3D printing, and scam awareness. And with even more exciting sessions planned for 2025, there’s plenty to look forward to—stay tuned!

We were so chuffed to get funding from the Powering Communities Fund! It has enabled us to add value to our monthly Repair Café by running workshops on fixing everyday objects...So people can learn how to repair things themselves...Come and visit - and don't forget your repairs!
